Washed by the Water

This weekend was so incredibly special for our family. EK asked Jesus into her heart a couple of years ago but was hesitant to be baptized. We didn't push it with her because we wanted her to be able to figure things out on her own. So after she approached us recently and said she wanted to get baptized, lots of conversations happened and we were really able to see her heart.  When we asked her why she now was ready, she said "I just feel like this is what I need to do to be obedient to the Lord."  Can't argue with that!! Yesterday was the big day and she was so excited!  She was surrounded by the people who love and care for our family so well and she was able to make her public declaration to her church family that she is now a new creation in Christ. As a parent, it's one of those days you hope and pray for and we are so very grateful!!!!

Our time was made even sweeter because Frank baptized EK. We are so lucky to have one of our best friends as our pastor, and for him to be a part of such a special and sacred moment with our child was amazing!
I read a quote recently that said "We make time for what we love. Pay attention. People will show you your worth to them." My children will never question their worth to these people (and others who missed out on pictures) because these people show up for everything and make them feel so important, special, and loved! "Thank you" will never be enough!
It was a really good day. So many people shared such kind words and offered encouragement to EK. That's what the church should be about....loving God first and then loving others.
