Celebrating Emma

It has come to my attention (Cough, cough...Robert😉) that I have neglected the blog for an unacceptable amount of time. So, I will do my best to catch up the happenings around the Nelson house.

Our baby girl turned 5 last week. A whole hand!! How can that be??  We celebrated her BIG over several days because let's be honest, one day was just not enough for this girl!  The Saturday before her actual birthday, we enjoyed some pizza and cake and then Haley, G, J and I spent several hours assembling Em's new playhouse for the backyard. This girl is loved more than she knows because not only was it quite a lengthy assembly project, it was raining the whole time. Not like a light drizzle either....like hard core rain. It was less than ideal but we would not be beaten and the playhouse was completed for the big reveal. Lots of pictures to come in another post of her cute little house!  She (and the other 2) LOVE it and have already spent countless hours playing in it.

My assistant made Em's cake. Em requested a chocolate cake with purple icing. It was quite a look but she loved it.

On the big day, we celebrated with Em's turtle class. She has the sweetest little class. We are going to miss the preschool!
Em was the Star  Student as well. She was very proud of her poster.
Since we are punting  birthday parties this year, I told the kids they could each bring two friends home from school for their birthdays. G and J met us at Primos because 4 5 year olds are no joke and it took all three adults to wrangle this rowdy bunch!

I think the birthday girl was pleased with all the birthday fun. She is such a joy!

Easter

What a beautiful day it was to celebrate that He is risen!  What a gift to share such a powerful time of worship with these people. So very thankful for Jesus and the way He loves us and I'm beyond grateful to be Easter people!
