Little Pats Cheer Camp

EK attended cheer camp this week. She was super excited to see all her friends and she had a blast learning all the cheers and dances.

Tuesday was crazy hair day and EK wanted me to braid her hair into a heart. It was a Pinterest fail and I will spare you the picture of what the back of this non-masterpiece looked like๐Ÿ˜‚
Wednesday was theme day.  The 3rd graders wore tropical clothing. Thank you Old Navy clearance rack for the palm tree awesomeness ๐ŸŒด

Thursday was the pep rally. Each grade performed a cheer and was introduced. All the campers then did a cheer, line dance, and the fight song.
During the week, the camp staff watched the girls and then chose 3 from each grade to participate in the jump off and dance off. You are looking at the 3rd grade dance off champion!  You can take the girl out of the dance studio but you can't take the dancer out of the girl!๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

This camp was the next to last obligation on the calendar before school starts back in just 2 short weeks!  I'm not even sure how to feel about it quite yet!  It's been such a good summer!

Good Times in the GT

When we left the beach, we went straight to Columbus for a few days before my cousin's wedding (where I took exactly 0 pictures.  I don't even know who I am anymore!) The moment we walked in to the Nelson's house, the kids started begging to make slime (thank you so much ad on the television at the beach. This is exactly why we don't have cable and only watch Netflix....all to avoid making slime๐Ÿ˜‰)  Anyway, after a couple days of begging/whining/nagging, we bought the supplies to bring you these smiles.

And yes, EK turned into a smurf. She overdid it with the food coloring just a smidge.๐Ÿ˜ณ

We got to play with the sweet Gordon kids one day. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the girls gave each other full makeovers. I can't even. They are going to be in college in no time.๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
While EK and I played in Starkville, J and W made a trip over to Uncle Jim's farm. W adores Uncle Jim and always has the best time being a country boy.
I'm telling you, he would have fit right in if we still lived in Pelahatchie!

J and I got to sneak away for a date night one night.  Some one asked me not long ago what my last meal would be and the answer is Chicken Anthony from Anthony's in West Point. It's the best!
We got to play with the Skaggs crew one day as well. It was our first time to meet their newest little guy and he is just precious!  Get this, he and Emma are from the same province!  It's a small world after all๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต
We got a swim and visit in with the Sykes family too. We don't sit still very much when we get into town!  So many friends, so little time!

They  pulled out the slip n slide for the kids and it was way too much fun!

We had such a nice visit with Nana and Pop. We all loved getting to spend several days with them and everyone is counting down until the next time we come to town.

Fun in the Sun

Sweet friends! We had the best time playing with our gracious hosts!  They headed home on Sunday and we stayed for a few more days of fun in the sun!

Ice cream is a must...add in tailgate style games and hula hoops and you've got yourself a party!

We explored one of the many souvenir shops and the kids came away with some new tshirts. It could have been a lot worse (I'm looking at you hermit crab ๐Ÿฆ€  with the hello kitty painted shell...and you disgusting shark in a formaldehyde filled jar๐Ÿคข๐Ÿฆˆ)
Movie night!
We spent a crazy amount of time at the pool. Our condo didn't have that many units in it, so it wasn't crowded at all. So spoiled!
Making new friends!  These girls were inseparable!

Dude loves the hot tub!

One of best best surprises happened when I found out that my precious friend Lauren was staying only .2 miles down the beach from us!  We met up for a little visit and it was seriously good for my soul to chat in person as opposed to our normal telephone convos!
We've been friends for 17 years. I'm not even sure how we are old enough for that to be true, but I'm so very thankful!
Love, love, love this bunch!
After visiting with our friends, it was time to load up the van and head north to the Golden Triangle for a few days!

Daddy+Daughter+Dolphins

EK read an ad somewhere for the glass bottom boat dolphin cruise and it just seemed right up her alley. She and J decided to go together and they had the most incredible time.

EK snapped a bunch of pictures of the dolphins as the swam by the boat.
She even got to drive!  She was so proud!
The tour went right by our condo a couple of times. J messaged me to tell me when they were close so I got in position on the balcony to give them a big wave.
Sweet memories!๐Ÿฌ❤️
