J, Walker and Pop have done some serious rodeoing over the last couple of weeks.  They went to the Dixie National one night. Walker was more interested in the cotton candy and his new rope than the actual rodeo activities.

These 3 also took a rode trip to Dallas to watch a professional bull riding event. It was at AT&T stadium where the Cowboys play. Walker was a bit disappointed because Dak didn't ride out on a bull.πŸ˜‚

While the boys have been busy with boy things, the girls have found some pretty girly things to do!  EK has been asking to get her ears pierced for a while. I originally told her she could for her 8th birthday but caved (because one can only listen to the constant talk for so long) and let her do it last weekend. She almost chickened out and even tried to jump out of the chair but she did it and she is so proud.
Now she can get all sorts of earrings for her birthday and will be able to use them immediately!
Before and after
We have done some painting during our girl time!  We've painted canvases, nails and toes, and even some furniture that sat still too long!πŸ˜‰

Was anyone else as excited as me because it was opening weekend of baseball season???? Spring is here in MS and we couldn't be happier!

My Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day from my little love bugs!
We are all sugared up thanks to parties for everyone over the last 2 days!  The teacher in me is exhausted!  Why must we party at the beginning of the week???? Now everyone is all fired up and we still have the rest of the week to deal with the aftermath!!!  But I digress.....

Emma's party was up first.
It's fun to work next door to her class. I love just popping in to see what she is doing!
Walker's was up next.

I can't believe he is almost finished with K4!!!!! It is flying by way too quickly!
Playground loving for these two best friends!
EK's party rounded out the festivities.

.

You know there is always going to be a BFF pictureπŸ˜‰
Nothing like finding out your child is a "Super Pat" of the month by seeing the bulletin board on the way out of the building. Thanks for the heads up, EK!πŸ˜‚
Big smiles with our favorite principal Mrs. Smillie!  We love her so much!!!

It's been a good couple of days with my favorite little valentines!

Father/Daughter Dance 2017

Sunday night was the Father/Daughter dance at our church. You may remember that last year, EK refused to dance and pouted in the corner. My children are never dramatic. J was worried a repeat performance would take place this year, but to his delight, he had a super excited date and she was ready to party!
She was so proud of her new dress. I let her pick it out on line and oh my stars, who knew sequins could make her life complete!!!
The duo went for a little pre dance dinner at her favorite spot...Newk's. #SoFancy  I got to keep an eye on them at the dance because I was helping snap pictures of everyone there. (No complaints from meπŸ˜‰)

They had the best (sweaty) time dancing together. EK was a dancing machine!  After a little while though, the girls seemed to ditch their daddies and opted for a girls dance party. They were adorable!

I keep hearing our family ministries pastor's words in my head that he shared with the dads in attendance. He said, "dads, you need to date your daughters before somebody else does. You need to show them how they deserve to be treated." Such a good reminder!

Meeting Our New Cousins

We had the best weekend getting to meet our newest baby cousins!  Katie and her sweet family were in Baton Rouge for a wedding, so we went to see them before they headed back home.
The babies are the most precious little ones ever and we enjoyed every single minute of our time with them. My crew took turns passing around each baby. They adore babies!!!

Walker smelled something a little stinky! πŸ˜‰πŸ’©
Games were played...
And books were read.
My baby needed to be read to as well.
EK was the baby whisperer. She made up stories for the babies and talked them to sleep!  She made sure to only make up stories that were not scary so they wouldn't have nightmares!πŸ˜‚
Katie is rocking this mom gig! I can only imagine that having  2 at once can become overwhelming in a hurry but she and Adam seem to have it down to a science!  They are amazing!
After a good nights sleep (for everyone
except Katie and Adam...let's be honest, they have two 3 month olds!)  we got in a few more cuddles before heading back home.
Cousin love!
I am so very grateful for the time spent with this Porter crew and I'm already plotting out of next visit together!

Life Lately

The weeks are just rocking along and we have fit in some good times in the midst of our crazy schedule. Here's a little recap of all the fun....

EK and her BFF had a fun play date. They are the sweetest little friends and I'm so grateful that in EKs 7 years of life, S has been by her side for 4 of them.
The kids went with my parents to see the movie Sing. They loved it!
The weather has been fabulous so we have spent every afternoon outside enjoying it.
This is EKs favorite spot for reading.

EKs class led chapel.  She did a great job praying to open the service.
J had Breakthru a couple of weeks ago. EK got to go to Columbus for some special only grandchild time. She crafted the whole time and loved every minute.

Walker and Emma had a big time hanging out with G and Kay Kay.
They went to Bass Pro and the library which made for some very happy children!
Walker had a play date with his best buddy one day. These two are hilarious together!
We made it to the end of another week, so we celebrated with ice cream!

I guess that about wraps it up for us!  Happy weekend!!!
