Our Day in Starkville

Super Bulldog Weekend was this past weekend.  We got to town around lunchtime and met Haley for a yummy Old Venice lunch.
After lunch, we headed to the Union to visit with some precious friends.  We have been friends with the Wavro family for about 15 years.  They moved to South Carolina several years ago, but we are super excited that Chandler has decided to come to State in the fall!!! (She grew up an Ole Miss fan, so this is so extra fun for us!!)
We also got to visit with Pam and Sarah Katherine Sykes.  Ella Kate LOVES them and insisted that Kat play hide and seek with her over and over again.
They also practiced some gymnastics...we have some work to do on that hand stand!
And this is what happened as soon as we got in the car to head home! We had a great day seeing our precious friends!  Thanks to the cold snap, we missed the baseball sweep, football scrimmage, and concert, but we had fun anyway!!!  Ella Kate did get pretty upset because apparently when she wears her "Starkville clothes" and hears we are going to Mississippi State, she assumes we are going to a football game.  Oops.  Only a few more months baby girl!!!!!

Bring Max Home!!

Our precious friends the Gordon's are in the process of adopting a sweet boy from Ethiopia. We are so excited for their family and can't wait to help welcome Max home! Here is an awesome opportunity to get involved in their process. Deep South Pout, a great boutique in Starkville and Columbus has so generously offered to donate a portion of EVERY sale this week to Wes and Meaghan's adoption! How incredible is that? The details are on the Gordon's blog and if you are not in the Golden Triangle, you can shop online! Thanks in advance for helping my friends! Please pray for them as the wait on their sweet boy!!!!  http://thewesgordonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/04/deep-south-pout-is-helping-bringmaxhome.html

Warrior Dash

This weekend, J and some friends from our church joined up with 10,000 other adventure seeking people to participate in the Warrior Dash. Now I don't know about you, but the thought of running a 5k that is filled with obstacles such as climbing rope net things, mud pits, jumping over fire, etc on an abnormally cold April morning seems pretty horrible to me. Not the case for my dear hubby. He had a blast and did a super job! He is also now the proud owner of a Viking helmet...be jealous!

Walker's Room

Several people have asked me to see pictures of Walker's room, so here you go. A super talented friend is working on a painting for over the chair, and we need pictures in the frames but otherwise, it is pretty much complete. We just need our sweet boy!!!!

Sunday Snapshots

While walking home from church today, Ella Kate asked me to take her pictures. So, we did. Of course she wanted her new rocking horse to be a part of her little photo shoot. =)

A great big "Thank You" to the Williams family for sharing the horsey with us. Ella Kate is LOVING it!!!!

And a little Baby Walker update...if I do not have him by May 18th, my doctor will go ahead and take him then! So excited that we only have a month until we get to meet this little guy!!! I went into labor with EK 2 weeks early, so there is a chance that we could get to meet Walker even sooner than the 18th!!!! SOOOOOOOO READY!!!!!!

Easter Morning

We have had an amazing day today celebrating our RISEN Lord! The morning started extremely early for J with a bonfire/scripture reading time and then the sun rise service at church. Because it was so early, EK and I did not attend this year, but I was awakened to the most amazing sound coming from the service. These words were pouring through the speakers:

"Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death.
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave.
Christ is risen from the dead.
We are one with him again.
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave.
Oh death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
Our God is not dead, HE'S ALIVE! HE'S ALIVE!!!"

It was an absolutely perfect way to start off the morning!!!!

Sunshine Days

Ella Kate has been enjoying the gorgeous weather this weekend in Madison. Mom and Haley took her to the park and she loved every minute of it. She would live there if we would let her! And this morning, Papaw, my parents and Haley took her fishing. They caught three fish and Haley said that EK was in awe. From the pictures, I would say she has been having fun for sure!! A HUGE thank you to mom and dad for keeping EK so J and I could relax before our little man arrives!!!!

Preschool Eggstravaganza

This past weekend, our church hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the preschoolers at our church. It was a fun morning that included play doh, painting, and goldfish filled egg hunting. Ella Kate and her friend Lauren were all set to go, but they had to wait on everyone else to get to the starting line...that was pretty difficult!!!And she's off....
I got so tickled watching Ella Kate. All the kiddos just starting picking up the eggs right in front of the starting line. Not my Ella Kate! She took off running to the edge of the field as far away from everyone else as possible so she could maximize her productivity. Silly girl!
On a mission...
A happy camper after filling her bucket!!!
Kay Kay and G came to watch the little priss pot in action. She was thrilled to have them in her cheering section and begged them to take her to the park afterwards...they of course obliged. We had a super fun day!!!!
