Around Here

I somehow missed this picture when I put up the pics from the game last weekend, so here it is a week late. We were so excited to see our dear friends Mason, Kristen, Will and Warren! We met up for ice cream after the game and enjoyed a quick visit. They are our very best friends from Hattiesburg and they moved to Florida around the same time we moved to Jackson. It's such a gift to have friends that you can just pick up with right where you left off!
Such a sweet sight as we made our way into church. They really do love each other!
EK had her dentist appointment and was given the best news ever in her opinion.  She got the no cavity report followed by the exciting news that her bottom two teeth would be coming out soon. Yay!!!! She is dying for a tooth to come out, so this was like the greatest thing Dr. Simmons could have said.
These baby bulldog besties looked too cute at the preschool on Friday!
It was a big week in first grade. The students got to meet their 5th grade buddies for some reading time in the library.  They also got to visit with some friends from a local animal shelter. Their class project for the 9 weeks was to collect supplies and donations for the shelter. Their week also ended with some pep rally fun which is always an exciting time.
EK went to a sugary celebration for a sweet classmate. They met at a new bakery and got to decorate their own cupcakes and cakes. They made some lovely creations for sure!
After the party, we met Haley and Kay Kay for lunch. It was a big day because we got to go to Haley's first dress fitting.
We had a few minutes in between lunch and the fitting, so we went to EKs happy place.
It's crazy that the wedding is in less than 3 months!
While the girls were doing girly things, Walker and Robert went on their own adventure to the Wing Dang Doodle Fest in Forrest. You are jealous, aren't you?!?!  Walker had the best time playing on the playground, eating sno cones, and riding a train. We are so thankful for Robert's willingness to hang out with Walker and for giving him such a fun day. We all think Uncle Robert is pretty awesome!
Doesn't everyone wear a crown while cheering on the Dawgs? Really, just Emma? Whatever works to get the "W"!!!!
It's hard to believe that September is coming to an end! Here's to hoping October will finally bring some fall like weather?!?!

Football Festivities

We were all excited to spend the weekend in the Golden Triangle. The kids had so much fun playing at Nana and Pop's house. They set up a pretend store, rode the gator, splashed in the pool, painted, and played and played and played. Thanks to the Nelsons for a great weekend!
Ella Kate had been begging to go to a State game, and this weekend just worked out beautifully for us to go.  Walker and Emma stayed in Columbus so that we could have a special day with EK. I'll be honest....I'm not sure how we ever made it to every home game for all those years!  Our ONE day in Starkville was exhausting....but oh so fun!!!

We made our way to the Gordon's tailgate and had an amazing time seeing our dear friends. I love it when these sweet girls are together! Meaghan posted their picture on Instagram and I think her caption is just perfection..."Besties from birth.  They had no choice."  Love these girls and love their mamas!
There was A LOT of cheerleading going on around the tent. The crowd was substantially smaller than the LSU weekend, which allowed for plenty of green space to perform.
They practiced their lifts....
And they worked on some formations. They had the best time!
Since EK was our only kid for the day and baby Mamie did some hard core snoozing in the stroller, the mamas got to sit and visit. It was fabulous!!!
EK caught a ride to the stadium. She had a great view of the band as they made their entrance while up there.
We ran into our precious friends the Parsons as we tried to cool off before going to our seats. We loved getting to see them!
I just love this place!
She was fired up at the start of the game....but then the questions started about when half time would start.
This was her face when the band took the field. She loves a half time show!
The Bulldogs had a huge win and we got to spend the day with our favorite big girl. I would say it was a pretty perfect day!

Our Wednesday Night activities have started up again. Last week, we had a house showing so we couldn't go home in between school and church time. No worries, we found some entertainment at the church. These little people sure do love the stage. Walker performed a lively rendition of "Do Lord" followed by Emma's presentation of her most favorite song, "Let It Go."

The middle schoolers had the inflatable obstacle courses for the night, so we also got to jump and play for a bit before the big kids took over. It's a perk of being a youth ministry kid for sure!
On Saturday, the kids surprised Kay Kay with a birthday celebration. They hid under the table and practiced yelling "surprise" a time or two.....or twelve!
We enjoyed some tasty treats made by Walker. He is a big fan of cooking.
She's the best Kay Kay around and we are so thankful she is ours! Happy Burthday!!!

Emma and Walker took their first trip to the dentist today. This is their "show me your teeth" face. I love that my kids go to my childhood dentist!  It's that sense of familiarity that is so comforting! Dr. Simmons is the cutest 80+ year old around and he is so great at what he does. We just love him!
Walker had a blast and did a fabulous job. He asked no less than 200 questions and was slightly disappointed that he didn't see an alligator in the swampy area behind the office. Luckily the plastic baseball bat and ball and new Avengers toothbrush helped him deal with the disappointment of no alligator. (Lucky for him, we go back next week for EKs appointment and he can gator watch again!). Miss Emma was not a fan but Dr. Simmons was pleased with how things were looking. We got the standard "you have a long road ahead of you!"  but nothing unexpected. Both kids were cavity free, so I'm a happy mama!
Today marks 9 months with our little China doll. She is a tiny little thing with the biggest personality!  She is loving MMO and they tell me she pretty much runs the class. She sings and dances her way through the day and she loves to put on performances with her Dora microphone. She follows directions really well but she will let you know when she is not happy with things!  She still eats everything and is a great sleeper. She loves to read books and play with baby dolls. She wants to do everything that EK and W do....for the good or bad! She loves speech and will be assessed next week to hopefully begin with some new therapists as well. She is such a joy and we are so thankful for her sweet life and the fact that we get to share it together!

Cheering on the Dawgs

We have had the most low key weekend!!!! We were all excited to welcome back college football and we watched our fair share on Saturday!!! With the Bulldogs playing so late, we had a lot of time to get geared up before kickoff.
Walker practiced his throwing...
And the art of intimidation!!! Anybody else love the movie Little Giants????
I think he has it down!
Watch out Daddy!!!!

We had performances by the cheerleaders as well.

They were quite spirited!
After bath time, we got all situated and snuggled up to attempt to stay awake and watch the game.
Emma lasted about 3 minutes before being moved to her bed. EK fell asleep about 30 minutes before kickoff. Walker hung with me until mid way through the first quarter.
The Bulldogs performance was less than stellar but we were able to come away with a win. Let's hope they work some issues out before this next game on Saturday!!!!

Highlights of Our Week

Another week is in the books and this week, it was finally Emma's turn to hold our sign on her First Day of School!  Emma started Mother's Morning Out this week and she had a great time. She is going on the days that I teach preschool. We saw each other on the playground on Friday. She said "hey mama," waved and went on her way! I can't compete  with the playground!
EK had a big week at school which was highlighted by getting to check out two library books. She was so excited about this!!!  Also, please notice her pencil box in the bottom right picture.  A bit obsessive???
EK and W convinced Em that she needed to get in the baby doll bed. She LOVED it and then asked for all of her sleeping things to be added in there with her.
Hugs with Daddy before preschool on #MaroonFriday.
Walker is having the best year at preschool. He thinks Ms Ashley is the best and he is so excited to go each day.
We are super proud that he has been making good choices at school!  He was awarded the class mascot Millie to bring home this weekend because of his excellent behavior. Millie celebrated #MaroonFriday, went to the Pep Rally and also the football game.  Who knows what else W and Millie will get into this weekend!
