See Ya March

Well, another week has come and gone and we have made it to the end of March.  Geez, this school year will be over in a blink!!!  As for what has kept us busy this last week...let's recap...

The kids and I went to watch Hunter Sykes play baseball at MRA.  He pitched a complete game for a W for Heritage.  The kids loved cheering for him...and eating pizza and candy!
On Wednesday, the Nelsons came and got our yard looking presentable.  A HUGE thank you to them for taking care of that!!!   Thanks to another double ear infection for Walker and the raw bottom that follows closely behind due to antibiotics...not much sleeping was happening at our house!  So, they took Walker back to Columbus with them for a few days so we could try and recover.  It also allowed for some special time with our big girl.  Ella Kate got to pick our activities and she was super excited.  We hit up the park and painted all sorts of craft projects.  We ate pizza and ice cream for supper and she even got to sleep on a pallet in our room.

Friday was bike day at the preschool.  EK liked it for about 5 minutes and then sat in a chair for the remainder of the time asking when they would go inside for a snack.  She's so outdoorsy and adventurous.
After bike day, we had lunch at the Greek place and had another paint session.  We went by for a visit with Papaw and had dinner at the Trace Grill with my parents and Papaw.  We did a lot of eating out while brother was away...it was like 8 million times easier and we were actually able to EAT the meal without wrestling that little stinker!!!  J and I also spent a huge chunk of time completing our adoption training sessions hours 11-20.  Glad to have those behind us!!! We will only have 10 more hours after we bring Emma home! Woo Hoo!
Bubba was living large in Columbus!!!  I think he enjoyed his time away as an only child!  He spent every waking moment outside and I am so thankful that the weather cooperated.  And what is it about boys and thinking they need to go to the bathroom outside?????  I am so not ready for this.
A major bonus happened on a trip to Wal Mart.  The Fire Dog and Police Dog were there to greet the customers.   Fire trucks and dogs are his Disney World.  So, needless to say, he was thrilled!
I sure did miss my little guy (even though I did not miss getting up with him during the night!) but who does he think he is taking my drink????  I blame his love for coke on his Kay Kay who introduced it to him at the Mexican place months ago.  Now, he thinks he should have it all the time whenever he sees me with a bottle.  Sorry buddy.  You may be the second child, but I'm not giving you coke just yet.  Enjoy your milk!
EK had another birthday party at the paint studio and is so proud of her newest princess masterpiece.  I'm afraid we may run out of display space before too terribly long.
Hope your Monday has been great!!!

The Circus Came to Town

Today was a super exciting day for my kids! The Greatest Show on Earth came to town and these 2 were pumped up thanks to watching Barney Goes to the Circus approximately 8,674,598 times.  (Have I mentioned that Walker is OBSESSED with Barney these days?)

Our crew found our seats and settled in for the show.

The kids LOVED all the animals and I was pretty impressed by the acrobatic type people.  It's crazy to see the things some folks can make their bodies do.

Smiles all around! We LOVED the show!!!!

Life This Week

March is zipping by and we are loving every busy minute of it.  The preschool had pancake and pajama day on Monday, so the kids modeled their new pjs before leaving for school.
Tuesday was THE DAY!!!! As every person in America knows, Frozen was released and we had one thrilled little lady at our house.  We watched it immediately after the mail man dropped it off and then EK had a watch party that night with 3 of our high school students.

The kids and I got all ready for church on Wednesday and as we were loading up, we received a message that the power was out and they were canceling all of the evening activities.  What to do with a surprising night off....head to see the Duggar family of course!!!!  The Duggar girls were having a book signing in Ridgeland and we got to meet the family.  So fun!!!!
Thursday was EK's best buddy Ruthie's birthday party.  The girls all painted mermaid pictures and they turned out so stinking precious!!!!
Sweet Reid Ray came over to play on Friday morning while the rest of his family went to match day at UMC.  The boys were so funny together and EK was a great helper.  Loved, loved, loved getting to see these future college roommates play together!!!!
This weekend, J and I served at Legacy Family Camp out at Timbercreek with our friends the Cookes. J was in charge of the big kids and I had the k-3 graders.  EK got to go with us and she was so excited to get to be a part and help out in what we were doing.  The weather was amazing and everything seemed to go really well for all the families that were there this weekend.  We played games, sang silly songs, did craft projects, and hiked down a few trails.  My little prissy pot was not made for hiking, but she did surprisingly well.

Walker Man spent the weekend in Madison.  He had a big time in his new swing and at the park despite the double ear infection he has had this week (we have all had our fill of the ear infections.  Please stop for crying out loud!!!!) Walker even got to watch Aunt Haley play some bball in the alumni game at MRA.  I'm sad I missed that!!!  Thanks to G and Kay Kay for keeping the sick boy for us!!
Today we went to the circus.  I am going to do a separate post about it.  So much fun!!!!!!

A Little Bit of the Irish

Yesterday, we stumbled upon someone's facebook status about a children's St. Patty's Day parade.  So, we loaded up and headed downtown this morning to see what we could find.  Now, the "real" St. Patty's parade is far from kid friendly, so I was excited to check out the activities geared towards kids.  There were jumpy things, some sketchy mall parking lot fair rides, and fair food venders.  The highlight though was the "Pet Parade."  People decked out their pets in some crazy costumes and paraded down the street for all to see.  My favorites included a llama, several miniature ponies, and a wagon carrying a bird in it's cage.  Walker and EK were more traditional in their favorites and preferred the dogs.  Next up was what we expected to be a parade.  It was however, about 50 people and their kids walking up and down the street.  The streets were lined with spectators...and all we saw was a group of 50 folks.  Oh well.  EK still said it was "the best day ever" and Walker was tickled with the pinwheel toy some child gave him and the fact that he saw a policeman on a motorcycle.

The kids loved the music that was playing.  EK was cutting a rug when some lady walked up and handed me a brochure for a dance studio.  Maybe it was because she was so impressed with EK's amazing dance skills.....or maybe she knew we might need some more training????

After the parade, we had lunch at Brent's Drug Store.  It was seriously delicious and is such a special place.  My family spent many a meal up at that counter top enjoying a milkshake or a lemonade!!!!

Today was the perfect way to wrap up our Spring Break!  Now we all just need to nap and rest up so we can get back to the grind!!!  Happy Saturday!!!

Morning at the Museum

We spent the morning at the Children's Museum.  Thankfully we had 3 adults to our 2 kids, so this mama was able to avoid a panic attack when 1 kid went 1 direction and the other went in the complete opposite direction the moment we walked in the door.

Of all the things at the museum, the lawn mower being raffled off was Walker's most favorite attraction.  Pop will be so proud.

Zoobilee Zoo

Does anyone else remember Zoobilee Zoo?  Mom and I took the kids to the zoo this morning and I can not get the theme song out of my head.  I googled it just for old time sakes...1986-1988.  Whoa....television programming at it's finest.

These two had a fun time taking in all the Jackson Zoo has to offer (which is not that much)
EK kept jumping every time the tiger would come close to her.  It stayed right up by the window the whole time we stood there.
Photo bomb by the big cat!

 Peek-A-Boo!

Girlfriend was excited to see her third favorite animal....next to the peacock and unicorn...neither of which we saw on this trip.
Walker was in charge of keeping our tickets for the train.  He was a happy little boy to watch for the choo choo.

So thankful for nice weather and time away from school so we can play!!!!
