Trick or Treat

This afternoon, we went to my parents in hopes of a break in the weather so we could trick or treat just a bit.  Today has been so icky but after dinner, the rain let up and we hit the streets!!!
The cutest little Dorothy and Scarecrow I've ever seen!  I think I will be a little sad when we don't get to wear these costumes anymore!!!!
Haley looked through tons and tons of pictures in hopes of finding a picture of this dress when she wore it....and then we realized it was Jordan who had worn it....oops! We did find some other gems during our search though!!!!  We will save those for another day.
EK was so timid at first since she really is a stickler for that whole "don't talk to strangers" thing, but she got the hang of it and had such a fun time!
I believe this might be Walker's favorite day of the year! That little guy LOVES some chocolate!! Can't say that I blame him!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!!

The Boo Parade

Ella Kate and her friends had an exciting day at the preschool.  They got to parade around the church and collect candy from the staff and then have a sugar filled party in their classrooms.  Teachers just LOVE days like this one!!!!
EK and Staton were just too precious in their Wizard of Oz gear!!! Too bad their little brothers were not in costume because with Walker as the scarecrow and Abbott as the lion...perfection!!!!

EK adores Ms Loretta and Mrs. Prather!
 Story time with friends
Walker was pretty fired up about Boston winning the World Series and just had to wear daddy's Boston hat to celebrate!

This Weekend

This weekend was the much anticipated arrival of our precious friend Max Gordon.  The kids and I loaded up and headed north to be there when their plane arrived.  These are some of my favorite pictures from the airport.  Meaghan, I hope you don't mind me sharing your precious family!!!

Max, you are one loved little dude!!!! So many people have prayed for you and for your sweet family and we can not wait to see the things the Lord has in store for you! Welcome home to Mississippi!!!

We were able to spend some time in Columbus this weekend and the kids had an absolute blast at Nana and Pop's.  Tears were shed for about an hour after we left today!  My nephews were in town this weekend as well, so Nana had her hands full with this crazy bunch!!!!

It was such a fun weekend to spend with family and celebrate with friends!!!!!

Pumpkin Picking

Ella Kate's Preschool went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch at the Ag Museum yesterday morning.  It was a beautiful, cool fall day and EK had a great time on the hay ride, seeing the animals, and picking out the perfect pumpkin.
I am so thankful for the sweet friends that EK has made this year.  She was pretty sad when we moved because she was leaving her best friends, so it is truly an answer to many, many prayers that she has found her place in Jackson.

Ok, these 2 look like little old men sitting on the front porch of the Old General Store playing checkers and drinking a bottled coke.  So funny!

We had a great time with the Blair and Layson girls!! Love them!!!!
When it finally came time to choose the perfect pumpkin, EK was quite particular.  She looked at every pumpkin out there to make sure she picked the right one.

EK's first field trip was a huge success and I so loved getting to be a part of it with her!

Tale as Old as Time

Thursday night, we went to see the Beauty and the Beast Broadway show and WOW, it was FABULOUS!!!! Beauty and the Beast is one of our favorite Disney movies and I LOVE going to Broadway shows, so this was a must see for sure.  My family went to see this show years ago and it was even better than I remember.  Ella Kate was absolutely precious the whole time.  She watched with such wonder and excitement, got so tickled and laughed along, and clapped with such delight throughout the entire performance.  It was way later than her bedtime when the show ended but she did great and was so engaged the whole time. She has not stopped talking about the show but was a bit concerned as to why they sang some songs that were not in the movie.

We all enjoyed the show so much and Ella Kate loved getting to have a special night just for her! Thanks to G and Kay Kay for a perfect night!!!!

A Day at the Office

This month, the jr high youth ministry has been doing a series called "Coloring Outside the Lines."  Tonight, J talked about loving God and loving others and the importance of community. What better way to show community than with a night of playing together!!!  They set up sidewalk chalk, 9 square in the air, dodgeball, and one huge inflatable obstacle course.  A perk of daddy's job....2 hours of playing in the inflatable before the big kids got there!!!! My 2 played hard and had a blast!!!!

It's not every day a Senior Pastor races a 4 year old!!! We love Pastor Bob!!!

Walker started out needing some help to get up the ladder for the big slide, but then decided he could do it on his own.  Little monkey man could scoot up and was so proud of himself!

I am afraid my children may go into a state of depression next week when all of our fun activities end and life gets boring again!!!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Fall Festival

Tonight was the Fall Festival at JA and Ella Kate has been so very excited! She keeps telling people, "I'm going to be Dorothy from the Lizard of Oz and Brother is going to be the Scarecrow and he doesn't have a brain."  She's sweet like that.

This costume is so special to me.  Mamaw Porter made this dress for Haley to wear when she was little and I am so very thankful that my EK gets to wear a piece of my sweet Mamaw's handy work.  She LOVED Ella Kate so much so I know she would be thrilled to see my precious girl!!!
When I knew that EK would wear the Dorothy dress, it was only natural for this little guy to go with the theme as well!  A big thank you to my friend Kristen for letting us borrow the costume she made for her youngest when he was W's age.  I think he looks pretty adorable...but I know I'm partial!
Mom and Dad joined us for the Fall Festival and I am sure thankful for their willingness to help wrestle and wrangle this wild man!
EK had a ball playing in the jump houses/slides and she really loved getting prizes at the little game booths.

From the looks of things, EK may need to stick with dancing because her bball skills and amazing golfing abilities leave a lot to be desired!  Check out that technique!

We had such a fun night and are looking forward to more fall/Halloween fun in the next week!!!
