Dancing Queen

Tonight was Ella Kate's dance recital at the church.  She adores dance and has had such a great year with her friends at the preschool in Ms Rachel's class.

EK was so proud to get a special rose from Ms Rachel after the performance.

We love our little ballerina girl!!!!!

Friends and Fire Trucks

Our Saturday morning was jammed pack with goodness! We started out the day celebrating sweet Spencer Evans at his pajama party at the Children's Museum.  I've said it before and I will say it again.  I LOVE that my kids are friends with my college BFFs kids!!!! It is so special!!!!
EK and the birthday boy.  Bless his heart....she bossed him around the whole time they were playing.  He didn't seem to mind and even told his mommy today that EK was his best friend.
Walker rocked some "Nee Naw" firetruck pajamas but Miss Priss was not interested in dressing for the theme of the party.  Shocking that she would have an opinion!

After the party, we went downtown for the Touch a Truck event.  It was warm and the kids were not in the best of spirits, but we managed to see a few things.  It was a bit crowded so the kids didn't get to hang out in the trucks as long as they would have liked, but I think they still had a fun time.

Walker's favorite of course was the fire truck, and EK was a big fan of the ambulance (possibly bc she got to sit inside for a while enjoying their air conditioner!!!!)

Love, love, love getting to spend time with my people!!!!!

A Little of This and a Little of That

So, here are a few recent happenings off of my trusty iPhone.  EK and J planted a few tomato plants.  We had a legit garden in Hattiesburg, but opted for just a few pots this year.  I'm already licking my lips just thinking about the yummy tomato goodness that EK will grow this year!
EK was pretty pumped up to wave her palm branch in big church on Palm Sunday.  She and Anne Marie held hands on their way down the aisle and waved their branches proudly with the other hand.
EK has been begging me to roll her hair.  Doesn't every little girl wear pink sponge rollers at some point in her life?  Unfortunately, there is no after picture because EK threw up all over the place while sleeping and required a bath immediately.  Maybe we will try again soon.
We made some Easter picture frame crafts one day.  Walker has carried his around with him for a week.  I think he is pretty proud.
Our hot water heater burst which is about the last thing we really wanted to deal with, but the kids were thrilled with the big box that served as a castle for a few days.
We went to Amory to visit my grandmother last Friday.  We had such a nice time getting to see her!

While at Mamaw's, Walker saw this picture of Jordan and kept saying "Elle Kay."  Bless him.  I can see why he was confused.  Jordan also went through her early childhood years living by the "no bow, no go" rule.

These two have really started playing well together.  I LOVE those precious moments when they get along so beautifully.  I hope they are always close friends.
We have been spending an enormous amount of time outside.  The weather has been just about perfect, but when you spend HOURS outside....it gets hot!!! So, we broke out the sprinkler for some water fun.  The kids didn't seem to mind that the water was FREEZING!!!!
Our church participated in Stop Hunger Now this week.  Miss Priss was not too excited to wear the snazzy hair net, but she got over it when she was given her task.  My job was loading the finished meals into the boxes to be loaded on the truck.  EK was a huge helper and acted as the runner who would bring all the finished meals to me to pack.  She ran non stop for an hour and a half.  She was really awesome! It was incredible to be able to talk with her about serving others and the many, many needs of people around the world.

Happy Friday and have a super weekend!!!!

Easter 2014

So very thankful for Easter.  I read somewhere a quote and I can't seem to find it again to give the author credit, but it said "The cross proved He was willing.  The empty grave proves He is able!"  Love this so much and the truth behind it.

We attempted some snaps before worship this morning.

After church, we went back to our house for brunch.

While the food was cooking, the kids had another egg hunt in the back yard.
Walker finally got the hang of things!
We are so very blessed and grateful that we are forever changed because of Easter!!!!

CUMC Egg Hunt

Our little crew had a pretty amazing time at the CUMC Easter Egg Hunt today.  The weather was perfect and the company was even better.  So very thankful for our church and the opportunity to serve the community around us with such a fun event.

Ella Kate has the best friends!!! Love these sweet kiddos!!!
The kids were split up by age group for the egg hunting portion of the afternoon.  The kids collected those eggs in a matter of seconds.  It was amazing to see how quickly they could clean up...too bad it never happens like that when it is time to clean up a mess at home!

So, in typical second child form, Walker missed out on the egg collecting preparation that I must have done with EK.  EK has always been the queen of the egg hunt.  Walker...not so much.  He finally picked up an egg after an enormous amount of encouragement, but instead of then going after more eggs, he chose to just open it up and see what he had gotten.
There were games and bouncy houses set up in the courtyard that the kids could do.  Walker REALLY loved the pin the tail on the donkey.  He hugged it goodbye.

Ella Kate did a little golfing and what do you know...she made a hole in one!!!!
This picture cracks me up....G has his hand over his mouth in disbelief.  Mr. Johnston threw his hands up like his team just scored the winning touchdown, and Ella Kate is like "yeah, I am good."

These two sure do love their Aunt Haley!  We are so lucky to have her so close!!!!

So very thankful for my little bunnies!!!
