A Busy Little 6 Month Old

Today Ella Kate is 6 months old. CRAZY!!!! We go to the doctor for her check up and shots tomorrow...NO FUN!!!!
Yesterday was a super fun day! My wonderful friends Sally and Meaghan were in town, so we went to lunch with the babies and our moms. Sally, we are SOOOOOOOOO excited for little Ray to get here in July! I love the sono picture though!!!!!
Mary Reeves, Meaghan, me and EK. Our friends Amanda and Courtney came over with their kids too, but Mary Reeves and Ella Kate were napping so we did not get a big group shot of all the babies. It was like a day care in my living room!!! So great!!!!
Best friends!!!

After the daycare cleared out, our dear friends Pam and Sarah Kat Sykes came to spend the night. We had fun hanging out and opening Christmas gifts. We are so excited to hang out some more at Breakthru this week!!!!
My family came to church with J and me on Sunday. No, we did not plan to match, but took pictures anyway!!!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Santa came to see Ella Kate and brought her a few goodies. This is her elephant rocking horse. She sings the ABC's and counts and sings all sorts of fun little songs.
My bags are packed and I'm ready to go. It won't be long before EK really does walk out the door to school. CRAZY!!! But for now, her little backpack will do just fine for Mother's Day Out.
Ella Kate is checking out one of her new books. She "read" the whole book (turned all the pages) and then set it down like she was really finished. Pretty cute!
This was the big bag that Santa left with all of EK's things in it. What a fun morning!!!

Fa la la la la la la la la

Merry Christmas from the Nelsons! We had a super Christmas this year. It was so great!!! Ella Kate was so fun and it was just a great day. We woke up and Santa had visited our house. Those pictures are on my other camera and I will get them up soon. (I got a awesome new camera for Christmas so some pictures have been in both places.) We headed over to mom and dad's for brunch and presents.
Ella Kate made Big G a picture book for his present. My daddy is a very proud Starkville native and one of his favorite things to do is take people on his "tour of Starkville." We have all experienced the tour many times, and it has already started for EK. She made him a book of pictures of her at all of his important landmarks (FBC, Starkville Academy, his kindergarten, the bridge he ran in to, the Kappa Sig house, etc.) J wrote the rhyming story that goes along with it. It is pretty cute!!!
Kay Kay found these precious Ella books. It is a whole series and the pictures are too cute. EK has the stuffed Ella the Elephant in her mouth, surprise, surprise.
A happy little girl with all her MSU loot. Squeaky shoes for next football season, a plastic plate, and a nap pad...EK is set!!!!
She is such a girl! She got really excited about her spend the night bags.
Auntie Jo gave Ella Kate the sweet monkey hat. We LOVE hats at our house!!!!
My sisters...I am so stinking short!!!!!

Day 2 Festivities

This morning we had brunch with the Nelsons before they all headed home. We had a great time getting to hang out and I think the kids really had a blast getting to "play."
YEAH, JORDAN IS HOME!!!!! I am so excited that she is home from the blizzard like weather of Virginia. So nice to greet her today with the 68 degree temperature!
Ella Kate LOVES her Auntie Jo and she REALLY loved pulling her hair...this would be why I wear my hair in a pony tail every single day!

I am a little concerned! Ella Kate appears to be trying to get away as fast as she can from Raggedy Ann! She will have to get over this since she WILL be a DG one day. If you are wondering what EK is looking at...it's Jordan telling her that she should be a Phi Mu.

What A Day!

Today we celebrated Christmas with J's family. Everyone came to our house for dinner and presents. J did an awesome job smoking our turkey (with the help of Josh...thank you tons!!) and J's mom did the rest. It was so great to have everyone together!!!
This is Ella Kate's tree in her room. This picture was taken moments before she decided to pull the tree over and cut her lip...blood and all...but no worries, she laughed the whole time because she thinks when things fall, it is hilarious. She is ok, no stressing, it is just a little scratch.
Nana loves to read to her grandkids. EK wanted to "help" by turning all the pages. It doesn't matter if you are finished with the page or not, she is going to turn the page when she wants to.
I LOVE HAVING A LITTLE GIRL!!! How cute is this? Thank you Aunt Lee Ellen for getting us our first tutu!!!! I can't wait to take some pictures of EK in this...I am thinking some pearls will be a nice touch!!!
Sweet Gregory is having such a fun time!
Yep, that's a Snuggie...for kids!!! I wish I would have thought of it!!!!!
After dinner and presents, we headed to "The City of Lights" to see what we could see. No smile from EK though, we woke her up to take this picture.
What cute nephews we have!!! John David is 6 and Gregory is 2 1/2.
John David, Lee Ellen, Gregory, and Ren posing in a tree. Too fun!!!
Nana and Pop and all their grandkids
Highlight of the night, by far, had to be seeing Ren, Lee Ellen, and the boys in the car ride. It was truly a sight to see. I had tears in my eyes as I tried to take pictures. I think I took about 25 shots and there is not a single one with everyone looking at the camera. Hopefully this will give you an idea!!! =)

Schedule for tomorrow....Brunch with the Nelson crew and then off to my parents. YAY my sissy is finally home and we will get to see her!!!!!! More pictures to come tomorrow!!!

More Snow

J's snowman complete with candy accessories.
We woke up to snow so we bundled Ella Kate up and headed out to "play" in our little bit of snow. We had a fun time and will enjoy our pretty yard while it is here.

Let it Snow!

You know you are from Mississippi when you get super excited about a few snowflakes!!! We did get a few pictures of Ella Kate before she went to bed. I hope there will be snow on the ground in the morning so we can try for some more pictures.
Auntie Jo, Ella Kate said she is very sorry that it snowed in Mississippi before it did in Virginia. I am sure you will get your fill of it before too long. We love you!!!
Yes, that is a mini snowball in Ella Kate's hand!!! Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to make a baby snowman!!!!!

One of a Kind

Bless her sweet heart! J was playing his guitar to Ella Kate while I was cleaning up the kitchen. She was loving her private concert until J started playing "One of a Kind." You are probably not familiar with this song, but J's sweet cousin Lisa gave us a CD when EK was born of sweet little songs that had EK's name in them. Within minutes of hearing the first song, EK goes to sleep. It is pretty funny! I didn't really mean to train her in this way, but it works so I am not complaining!!!! Happy Friday!!!!
