Celebrating the Chinese New Year

This weekend, we celebrated the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rooster. The kids insisted we make lanterns to decorate our mantle.
We did our yearly handprints as well.  I love looking back and seeing how much their little hands have grown over the years!

We met up with my parents and Haley and Robert for lunch at Roosters because obviously we needed to eat thereπŸ˜‰.  After our yummy lunch, we got in position for the CNY parade.

This crew from a local church was quite festive!πŸ˜‚πŸ“
My favorite little middle school band was there again to entertain.
The parade is no Macy's parade but it is such a fun little tradition to do together!

We ended our day of celebrating with some leftover sparklers from NYE.  Such a fun day!

Snow Much Fun

Mississippi weather is ridiculously unpredictable! As I type this, it is a sunny 75 but just one week ago, we were in our own wintery wonderland! We woke up Friday morning to a lot of sleet and it continued throughout the day. School let out a few minutes early, so the kids were able to bundle up in their make shift cold weather gear and they had way too much fun!

Warming up by the fire was a must after all that icy goodness.  They had the very best time!
And seriously, do they have the same face or what?
