Weekend at Nana and Pop's

Dear Nana and Pop,

I had a fun time staying with you while Mommy and Daddy went to the football game. They were so sad when they came back so I hope next week the Bulldogs will be able to make everybody happy! I can't wait until next Friday when I come and stay with you again. I hope you have a good week at school!

Love, EK

Meemaw's Birthday

Today was a great day. We went to New Albany to celebrate J's Meemaw's 90th birthday. About 50 people came to join in the festivities. It was fun to get to visit with cousins and aunts and uncles. It was also really nice to get to meet so many relatives who we have never gotten to meet before just because everyone lives so far apart. I think that everyone had a very nice time and as you can tell from the picture to the left...Meemaw really seemed to love having all of her family around. All 3 of her kids, 5 grandkids, and 8 great grand kids were there to share in the big day!

My blue eyed girl!

Trying to get a 2 1/2 month old, a 2 year old and a 5 year old to cooperate for a picture is way harder than you can imagine! This is the best I could do to get Ella Kate with her cousins John David and Gregory.

I can not believe that John David will be 6 years old in 2 weeks! Time really does fly by!!!!! Happy early birthday Buddy!!!!!!!

Ode to Oxford

Dear Oxford,

Today was my first trip to visit you. I must say, you are not my favorite place to be! I would much prefer to be in God's country with my Bulldogs! It was very fun to get to see Madison and Katie, but I still refuse to smile as long as I am here. No offense girls, but Mommy and Daddy have already taught me that Bulldogs are good and Rebels are yucky. I just can't wait until next Saturday when I get to go back to my wonderful Starkville!!!!

Happy Grandparent's Day!

Dear Kay Kay, Big G, Nana, and Pop,
I hope you had a great Grandparent's Day! Hopefully you got to take a good nap since it is rainy! Thank you for all you do for me. I am a very lucky little girl to have all of you!

Much love,
Ella Kate

Random Pics from the Week

I LOVE THIS DRESS!!! My Mamaw Porter made this precious dress out of some fabric that is over 100 years old. It is absolutely precious and EK was adorable in it. Here are two pictures from before we headed to church. She has done great in church so far. Every time President Smith begins to preach though, EK thinks he is talking to her, so she begins to talk back. We have to make a quick exit at this point and spend the remainder of the service in the lobby in the front of the church.

Daddy and Ella Kate before church.

J got down on the floor to talk to EK while she hung out on her mat. I guess he got tired because he fell asleep and napped there for a while. I thought it was hilarious to see a grown up on the baby mat, so I had to take a picture. Pink is definitely his color!!!

This is the definition of multi-tasking! I am thinking that J's milkshake taste a lot better than Ella Kate's formula, but she doesn't seem to mind too much.

Thursday night, we had the chance to do something pretty special. Steve English, the missionary who runs La Senda in Guatemala where J and our student ministry went this summer, was passing through town. We had a great meal with Steve and his daughter and everyone who went on the trip had a fun time talking about the inside jokes and stories that they had all experienced. I can not wait to have an opportunity to go down there soon!

Happy Birthday Kay Kay!

We celebrated Kay Kay's birthday today. We ate a yummy dinner at Cock of the Walk (which EK slept through completely) and then had some Primos caramel cake...be jealous!! We were hoping for a Bulldog victory after dinner, but that did not happen. Oh well, maybe next week. Mom, I hope you have a wonderful birthday on Monday with your little darlings at school!!! Maybe someone will bring you a cupcake!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

It's a Great Day to be a Bulldawg!!!

YEAH FOR FOOTBALL SEASON!!! I love everything about this time of year (especially now that I am not going to work!) Football season just makes me super excited. Today was a first for Miss Ella Kate. We attempted the MSU vs JSU festivities with a 2 month old...interesting, to say the least. Luckily, EK's Kay Kay and Big G (my parents) kept her during the first half of the ball game so we could go....needless to say, they stayed dry, and we got soaked! No worries, a little rain did not stop us from seeing the Bulldogs kick off hopefully a winning season. It was so fun to see the "Dawg Pound Rock" back in action and I even teared up when Tonka the Bulldog was retired as the mascot. That made me feel really old since she became the mascot my sophomore year!!! There were so many people and we had a great time visiting with the friends we could find. Ella Kate met Bully for the first time but didn't seem to care too much about him. I know she will love him when she gets a bit bigger. We had a very nice tailgate lunch with my family. Ella Kate was the star. Why do I even show up?? =)

I love this picture because it looks like she is cheering "Go Dawgs!" We practice our cheers at home. Yes, it is pretty ridiculous but it makes her smile and laugh when I do it.

Our 2nd game day outfit thanks to spitting up in the car seat on the way from Columbus. Got to keep back up outifts available!!!

Our little family!

We ran in to Brad and Amanda Jones (my cousin.) Brad's little boy Brody and Ella Kate did not seem too interested in each other. I am thinking that we will be having some exciting Christmases in the future with these two.
