Another season of dance is here. This is EK's 6th year to take ballet and she is finally old enough to be a part of the company. She auditioned over the summer and she is so excited to rehearse with her apprentice class and improve and grow as a ballerina. We had a company meeting to kick off the season and they got a group shot of all the girls (and one boy.)
Off to her weekly ballet and jazz classes...you're jealous of those dance boots, aren't you?!?! It's very important to keep the bottoms of your ballet shoes protected so boots are a must to cover them....or at least that's what I'm told😉
Just for fun, here's a look back at EK's first year in ballet. I can't even deal. Baby ballerinas are the best! Emma starts in a couple of weeks and I can not wait!
Recitals through the years.....
EK shines on the stage and is filled with so much joy. I love to see her perform but even more, it's amazing to see her gain confidence and focus through her training. Dance is her passion and I'm thankful for the instruction she is receiving to help her grow as a dancer.

Soccer Shot

I'm going to be honest, soccer is not my favorite but it is nearly impossible to say "no" when a certain little boy asks to play.  He is having the best time practicing and is super excited for his first game in a couple of weeks.

I know a little boy that thinks it's pretty special to have his daddy coach his team!!!

What better way to end a practice than to treat yourself to a Campbell's treat?!?!?!  Happy boy!

Long Time, No Blog

Well, it's been a minute since I have posted but I have good reasons for the absence.  Back to school is no joke and I am thrilled to see the calendar page flip over to September in a few short hours.  On top of new teachers and new activities, we threw in a home renovation project. Let me be clear....we did not choose this project.....but alas, a new master bathroom will eventually come from this whole ordeal. Long story short, we discovered a water leak under our tub that led to significant water damage resulting in a complete gut job and rebuild. Good times. I must brag on J Nelson. He did all the demo for the room and has been the one to deal with all the contractors. This is the busiest time of the year for J but he has still made taking care of all of this a priority. I am so thankful for this man!  Now if only the contractors would work with a little bit of  urgency so we can get our bathroom back in working order!
Walker went with my parents to the dedication of the new fire truck in Ridgeland one day. There was a slim crowd due to rain. Walker didn't mind!  He loved every minute of visiting with the fire fighters and checking out their new ride.

School is rocking right along and all three kids are having a great year. I love when I get pictures from school!

EK started her 6th season of ballet. She will be in the studio for 2 hours during the week and another hour on the weekend.
W started soccer practice. He is having the best time and is pretty good!  His first game is in a couple of weeks and he is pumped!
We had the Nelsons with us for a few days. The kids crafted, played outside, and pretty much went non stop during the whole visit!  I'm pretty sure Pop and Nana rested well when they made it Home! J and I were able to go to a concert one night and a wedding the next night thanks to our awesome babysitters! To top of off, we got to celebrate Pop's birthday!
We hope you had a great Birthday, Pop!
We are all looking forward to this weekend because Jordan is coming to play!!!! The Bulldogs also kick off the season!!!! Woo Hoo!!! It's going to be such a good Labor Day weekend!

1st Day, Hooray!

Summer is in our rear view mirror and we are full steam ahead into our school year routine. EK started back last week and the little two and I started back yesterday. Needless to say, we are exhausted at the end of the day and no one is having any trouble sleeping!!!  We are working hard to get in our rhythm so when we add in all our activities in a couple of weeks, we will be ready!

2017-2018 school year is going to be one for the books, no doubt!

Meet the Teacher

We count down the days and then stalk to mail lady in order to find our teacher letters each year. My kids LOVE school and were so ready to get back into the swing of things with their new teachers and friends.

EK is in Mrs. Ruwe's class this year and she thinks she is grown bc they have flip top desks now. It doesn't take much to make us happy😉
We have the sweetest principal. Her name is Mrs. Smillie....seriously, could there be a better name for a principal???
I'm not sure who is more excited about Haley's new job....Haley or EK???!?!?!  Won't it be fun in two years when Haley gets to teach her?
W was tickled to find out he will be a merry monkey this year for K5.

He has a major crush 😍 on  his sweet teacher Mrs. Jones. I asked him about her and he said she's "pretty as always!"
Not sure how we missed Emma's letter picture. I think she was napping and then it got misplaced. Oops. #ThirdChildProblems
Anyway, she is excited to be a terrific turtle with Mrs. McLain.

It's going to be such a great year with these fabulous ladies!

Walker's Weekend with the Henshaw

Walker was fired up to finally get his weekend with Haley and Robert!  He got to give suggestions as to what they should do and he absolutely loved every minute!  They went to several different parks in the area. Haley truly is a gem because August in Mississippi is no joke!

They ate pizza and played at Bass Pro too.

Deep South Pops are a must in this crazy summer heat!
The biggest highlight for W was getting to go to puppy training class with Moose. He adores his puppy cousin and he was fascinated by all thae tricks that Moose has learned....so much so that he has spent countless hours attempting to train his sister to perform tricks as well.

Thank you Henshaw family for giving my little guy such a special adventure!
