14 Months

Ella Kate is 14 months old today. She is a mess for sure! She is so fun and it is such a blessing to get to spend my days with her. She is in to EVERYTHING and is so curious. She loves to walk around the house talking on my cell phone. She carries it everywhere with her. Sometimes, she also carries pictures around with her and talks to the people in the pictures. Pretty funny! She is great at identifying people that are in pictures on the bulletin board in her room. When you ask her where someone is, she will look and as soon as she spots that person, she will point and laugh. She is still loving all fruits and choses to eat them over anything else. She has been practicing "ringing her cowbell respectfully" and will be ready for Saturday. She has finally moved up to a size 3 shoe. She has little peanut feet like her mommy. She loves to dance and has just learned how to blow her nose (which is really her just making a blowing sound with her mouth but she thinks it counts). I'm sure there is more but in true EK fashion, it's 8:00pm and she's ready for bed so I better go.

Better Late Than Never...

A belated Happy Birthday shout out to Pop!!! We hope you had a great birthday yesterday and we will see you in a few days!!!! We LOVE you!!!!!

A Masterpiece

I love doing crafty things, so I thought why not get Ella Kate involved. I decided she could paint her first canvas today, and boy did she have fun doing it!

Notice the tongue sticking out? She was concentrating so hard! It takes a lot of focus to do great works of art!
After finishing her canvas, Ella Kate proceeded to paint her art table, the easel, the stool, the door to the deck, the broom...you get the idea. She LOVED it!!!

A bath was definitely in order for my little artist!
And voila, the finished product...with a few touches from Mama. =)

Daddy and our Dock

Friday Night Lights

Last Friday night, we went to the Oak Grove/Bassfield game. Other than the 120 degree heat, and an hour weather delay we had a super night and Oak Grove won easily. Ella Kate had a blast, but only made it until halftime before she was ready for bed....it was 10:00 though, so I can't really blame her!
Ella Kate and J checked out the guys. Pop, EK thinks the team looks pretty athletic, but could probably use you as a one of their coaches!!!

Ella Kate really liked the cheerleaders. She clapped along with them and even caught a football after OG scored a touchdown!
Ella Kate also liked seeing some of our Heritage students. She wasn't so crazy about Layton (her boyfriend) with all of his face paint though! He was a pretty scary Warrior!!!

Little Green Chair

This is my FAVORITE chair!!! It came from a random store in Fondren and I LOVE IT!!!! So, I took Ella Kate in our backyard for a little photo session with my chair.

My Bulldog Belle

Who's ready for some football????

Back to Heritage

Can I just say that I LOVE Heritage UMC! We have had an incredible month here in Hattiesburg so far and I can't wait to see what God has in store!!! The church has been so warm and welcoming and have immediately made us feel at home. They are an AMAZING group of people and we are truly blessed to be able to serve along side each of them. Last night was "Back to Heritage." It is the kick off to the new school year, along with promotion Sunday. We spent the afternoon fellowship and eating together and then ended the night with Jarred Hall who is a really great, not cheesy, illusionist. It was a super time!!!
J and Ella Kate had fun dancing to the band...EK LOVED the tambourine.

13 Months Old

Well, taking a picture with my VERY active 13 month old proved difficult, hence the standing on the couch holding her sign...whatever!!! I can not believe another month has already gone by. We are starting to settle in to life in Hburg, and things are going GREAT!! So, what is Miss Priss up to these days? She is ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! She is a super walker now and we are chasing her all over the house. Today, she opened the back door and walked outside to get in her cozy coupe car...no worries, I was right behind her though. She is talking up a storm as well. The other day, while we were staying in Madison, EK started crying and we couldn't figure out what was the matter. Mom asked her what was wrong and she screamed "BA-NAN-A!" Apparently she was hungry and wanted a banana. It was too funny, but we may need to work on asking nicer! She is saying "thank you" when you give her things and she calls Jordan "Doe Doe." At Cock of the Walk the other night, she said "Bye Duck" to all 200 ducks out there. She is a mess! Her favorite song to sing is "Itsy Bitsy Spider" complete with motions. I have tried to capture this on video, but haven't been successful yet.

When you ask EK where someone or something is, she puts up her hands and says "huh?" Too cute, if I do say so myself!
She loves to hide in between furniture. My daddy calls it her "office". She has found an office in every room of our house and she just hangs out and reads and puts all her toys under the furniture.

We are having a great summer so far, and we are looking forward to things settling down a bit...if that is possible with a 1 year old and a youth minister!!!!

Camp Meeting

J was able to go lead the youth at Shiloh UMC's camp meeting in Pelahatchie again this year. This is a 10 day, 3 service a day, old school, no air conditioner, tent revival that has been going on for like 180 years. It was great to get to go out there and visit with special friends. We LOVED our time in Pela and it is always nice to get to spend time with our sweet friends. We took Ella Kate down to the natural spring behind the church and snapped a few pictures. Sadly, I left my camera in the car during the church service. EK and I spent most of the service on the porch of a "tent" by the tabernacle. EK LOVED playing in the saw dust and filled up a Tonka truck one piece at a time. Too funny! She only ate a few handfuls of saw dust, I think, but she had plenty in her clothes and diaper to last us until next years event!!!

Doe Doe

Ella Kate has been very lucky to get to spend so much time with Jordan and Haley this summer. They are SUPER to her and treat her like a queen. Here are a few pictures of Ella Kate and her Doe Doe, as she calls her.
