50's Day at MRA

Well, we have made it to the 50th day of kindergarten and to celebrate, EK's class had a morning filled with 50's themed activities.
There was hula hooping and bubble gum blowing.

Lots and lots of pictures were taken with friends.
There were some interesting dances at the sock hop station.  EK took a more lyrical approach to her dancing.
She loosened up when her BFF found her.

I can't even deal. That hand on the hip.
The craft time was a hit for my crafty little girl.  The coke floats...not so much. Shocker, Ella Kate wouldn't try them. She's just soooooo picky!
Loved getting to see my girl this morning.  The kids had a ball.  So thankful for teachers who create such special and memorable experiences for the students!

Happenings

So, what have we been up to around the Nelson house....well, we have been soaking up every minute of our Dawgs in the #1 spot.  EK was thrilled to get to wear her maroon to school on college spirit day.
Walker loves the Dawgs too.  He always insists on sitting on our bulldog when taking his picture outside.
Most Fridays you can find us at a local high school football game.  Love getting to see our "big kids."
I must brag on Miss Priss.  Once a month at school, the PE classes participate in "Running Club." Each child is given 15 minutes to run a mile.  For each mile you run, you get a foot charm that can be displayed on your backpack.  EK completed her mile during the October running club.  She was so proud!
They are mighty sweet to each other....every once in a while!

I love when I get pictures of EK's work from school.  It is amazing to see how far her writing has come!

There are just a few more days to order your labels from my friend Sarah. They are only $15 ($11 of which go straight to our adoption expenses) and they make great happies to give or just are perfect to jazz up any package you need to give.

And speaking of our adoption....we have submitted the necessary paperwork for Emma's visa. We are now waiting on our Article 5. It should be here within 2 weeks. After that we will wait for our travel invitation!!!! This typically takes a couple of weeks which would have us traveling in December!!!  My prayer all along has been to have Emma home by Christmas. It's possible, but because of holidays and such, it could be January. Either way, I'm just ready for my baby to be home!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

One of my favorite fall activities is to go to the pumpkin patch.  While living in Hattiesburg, we always met my parents in Collins at Mitchell Farms, so we decided to head back there since we knew it was a great place with tons to do. It was a bit warm (EK shed her cute denim jacket immediately after we arrived) but we had a fabulous morning together.
The hayride was a hit

One of EK's favorites is always the tire swing.
They LOVED the big slide!

That boy loves to climb.
So thankful for Kay Kay and G....and the light up princess wand that G was kind enough to purchase in the gift shop.
EK really wanted to do the corn maze.
We were all jumping for joy when we finally made it out of that thing!
W's favorite activity by far was the train.  He rode it 3 times and would have gone 25 more times if we would have let him.
Decisions, decisions..

Thankful for this time. Thankful for these people. Thankful for the memories made.

Fall Festival

We had the best night at the Fall Festival at our church.  J has worked so hard to make tonight a reality and I think everything went beautifully.  My kids took advantage of the jumpies being set up all day and got some good playing time before the crowds rolled in.  A perk of daddy's job for sure!

Sweet friends!

I asked my crew for a family picture and this is the best I got.  Oh well.

So very thankful to have Kay Kay and G to help wrangle the wild ones.

We love Aunt Haley!  It is so amazing to have my parents and Haley in the same town with us. Living away from family for a while has really helped me appreciate them so much more! We couldn't make it without them!

Walker was so excited to see his precious teacher Ms Mandy.  He ran over to her and gave her the sweetest hug.  He said "I love Ms Mandy.  She's my best friend!"
We played some games and won some pretty awesome prizes.

Loved seeing some of our d-group girls too!

The pastors took turns in the dunking booth.  Ella Kate thought it was hilarious to see J in there.  Walker just kept asking why he was having to do it.  J took quite a few dips in the little pool during his time in there!

Tonight was a great time of fun and fellowship with absolutely perfect weather. It could not have been any better and I loved spending the evening with some of my favorite people!
