Tuesday Tidbits

It is wild that our student ministry weekly programming has already come to a close for the year. My kids had a big time at the end of the year crawfish boil. They think they are in the youth ministry and should be up in each and every activity with the big kids!
This kid. He keeps me laughing (and sometimes the laughter is necessary to keep from crying). He came in wearing EKs bathing suit bottoms on his head saying he was a "cooker". You are something, Walker!
Emma has in true American form perfected the art of taking a selfie. She's so proud of her accomplishment!
She also loves to have her picture taken these days. She will stop and smile until I grab my camera or phone to take her picture. And one pic is never good enough, she wants a whole photo session each time.
J has been teaching some guitar lessons. One of his students is in EKs class and he asked J to come play with him at school one morning. So sweet.
We went for Emma's check up with the plastic surgeon. I was shocked when he looked in her mouth and said, "holy cow! I never expected it to be this closed! We need to do surgery now!"  Say what?!!? We were expecting her mouth to be ready in late July/early August at the 6 months post op appointment. Well, it seems Emma is an overachiever in the tissue growing department and will be having her hard palate surgery on Monday, May 18!
Assuming all goes as planned, this will be her last palate surgery.  She will have a revision on her lip and nose at some point before she is in kindergarten but that is a "minor" type of plastic surgery and then as she gets older, we will deal with oral surgeries if necessary.
Ella Kate was pumped up to celebrate her birthday at school today. She made Frozen cupcakes and had goody bags ready for all her friends. J went and read a book to her class after snack as well.
On Tuesdays, we usually meet my dad for lunch. At today's lunch spot, we hit the jackpot for Walker! We were seated next to two tables of firemen and we got to check out their truck on our way to the car! Good thing Walker had on a smocked fire truck shirt for the occasion!
In other news, our house is now for sale.  If you know anyone interested in this cute little place, please send them our way!!!
Happy Tuesday!
