Catching Up

We are home from the hospital and slowly trying to get back in the swing of things.  So here are a few snaps in an attempt to catch up on our oh so exciting little life!

Emma got to meet Aunt Ellen the weekend before the surgery. She and Aunt Carolyn were passing through town and we loved getting to visit.
Emma's surgery was on Monday and by Wednesday, she was almost back to her sweet little self. We passed our time trapped in the hospital bed by taking selfies and watching Mickey and Doc McStuffins.
Girlfriend tore up her forehead with the Velcro on her splints! I was so worried about those silly things but she doesn't mind them at all.  In fact, she holds her arms out if they come off and cries for them to be put back in place. She's a good little patient for sure! She absolutely loved all her nurses and I think she has quite a crush on one of the residents.  Everyone was so great to us and they made our time in the hospital the best it could be!
We were all thrilled though to leave the hospital on Thursday!  She has really been amazing. She is eating great again and seems to feel great. Sleeping.....well, we aren't quite back on track yet. Hopefully we will get there soon!!
And seriously, could the weather have been any nicer this weekend? After being inside all week, we were all excited to spend as much time as possible outside.
We had an errand to run at the outlet mall, so EK convinced us that the little merry go round was necessary. The girls loved every minute!

We spent the rest of the weekend strolling the neighborhood. It was pretty perfect...although we were missing Walker.

And nothing like going through my phone and finding pictures like this from EK!
The Nelsons were at our house to take care of Walker while we were in the hospital. They left on Wednesday and took wild man with them since we were not home yet. Walker got to hang out with Uncle Jim one day. These two are big buddies.
And he got to make Valentine cookies with Aunt Betty. So fun!
We are so thankful to have this first surgery behind us!  We so appreciated all the sweet messages, visits, and yummy food that we have been given and of course we would be lost without our families to keep the big kids and keep everything else afloat while we were our of commission.  We have an amazing village around us and we truly feel blessed!
