Up, Up, and Away

Does anyone remember this picture?  This was the day our spring break trip to visit my sister was canceled due to mechanical issues on our plane. We were all crushed about missing out on our visit, but after we composed ourselves, we began making plans for a bigger and better makeup trip as soon as school let out for summer. 

We were up bright and early last Thursday morning to catch our flight out of Jackson. 

We were all cautiously optimistic that we would indeed leave the airport in a plane this go around. 

Things were going along pretty smoothly. 

We got to our assigned seats, pulled away from the gate, and then....the dreaded announcement from the cockpit saying there was a mechanical issue and we would have to pull back up to the gate for things to get checked out by the maintenance crew. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? How could this be happening again!?!?! Luckily, it was a quick fix and we were able to take off with only a slight delay. EK loved flying.  She read a crazy amount of books and consumed a few too many snacks, but she was an easy travel buddy. 

We landed in DC, found our hotel and then the search for food became our immediate concern.  We stumbled upon a Moe's and it was just as delicious as ever!  Why, oh why did the one in Jackson close???? 

We called it an early night because we needed to rest up for our day of touring in DC the next day.
