3 Months

Three months ago today, a scared little bald headed baby girl dressed like a pink Peep was handed to us and proclaimed to be our daughter. Three months with Emma Kyle and she is such a treasure. Emma has changed so much in such a short time. So, here are some random tidbits about sweet Emma.  She has gained 3 pounds and her hair is starting to fill in as well. She walks everywhere now. It's amazing what proper nutrition and some attention can do for a little one's development!  Her palate surgery was 6 weeks ago, so she is now cleared to eat whatever she likes...which is EVERYTHING!  Her favorites are Mac and cheese, cinnamon toast waffles, yogurt, goldfish, green beans, blueberry muffins, Cheerios, biscuits, bananas, strawberries and chicken.  She really has not met a food that she doesn't like.  She has started staying in the church nursery and she is doing great!  We break the rules and let her stay in the room with Walker even though she is not old enough. The familiarity is comforting for her and it makes Walker feel so good that she "needs" him. The nursery ladies are always the same ladies and so that is wonderful as well. She (along with EK and Walker) love Ms Brenda and Ms Bernice and I am so thankful that they love on my babies so sweetly!  Sweet girl is starting to say more words. Her best words are no, tan too (thank you), milk, wah wah (Walker), Ella, Emma, mama, dada, uh oh, night night, roni.  She babbles and sings all the time!  We are having her evaluated for speech therapy on Wednesday so hopefully we can get started on some of that and she will continue to learn more and more words.  She can understand everything though so I know it won't take long, I'm sure. For the last 2 nights, she has slept in her own bed in her room.  So far, so good! Hopefully that will continue!!!  Things she loves: to sing, to eat, to play with her tea set, her uggs, her learning chair, baby dolls, hair bows, to be carried on my left hip only, dancing, and clapping.  She has got a mind on her own and wants things her way and she is not afraid to let you know when she is displeased! She has definitely established her place in the family and we are loving learning her personality. We feel so overwhelmed at times as we try to balance our crazy life, but we wouldn't change it for anything (a little more sleep would be nice though.)  Emma is just such a perfect little fit in our family and we are so grateful that the Lord brought us together.
