We found our gate (let's be honest....this is Jackson so there are like 5 possibilities) and EK watched the monitor to count down the minutes until it was time to board our plane.
Finally, it was time! Boarding passes ready to go!
We made it to our seats, listened to the safety procedures and pulled away from the gate. We then sat there for about 15 minutes. We all assumed we were waiting for clearance for take off. The captain then came on the speaker and said their was a "mechanical issue" and maintenance was on their way to check out the situation. So, we sat and sat and sat. We then pulled back into the gate for some additional maintenance attention. After about an hour, they told us to get off the plane and stretch our legs but to stay near the gate.
So, we made ourselves comfy and tried to stay busy. Finally after a couple of hours, we heard the dreaded news. Our flight was cancelled. And just to make matters worse, there were no available flights for 2 more days, therefore the airlines not only cancelled our flight but unfortunately they cancelled our trip as well.
I believe these pictures accurately depict our feelings on the matter!
Mom, EK and I are so sad that we didn't get to go see Jordan and she is equally bummed that we didn't get to visit her. On a positive, we are already making plans to visit as soon as school lets out in May. The only difference will be that we will be flying out of a different airport with more available flights!!
