Lately
I am sorry for the ridiculous amount of pictures in this post, but a lot has been going on this week. Ella Kate will be 2 months old this weekend!!! It seemed like the last 2 months of my pregnancy would NEVER end...and then amazingly, these 2 months with EK have FLOWN by! She is so fun and we are having a blast. EK really likes to sit in the Bumbo. I guess she feels like she can really see what is going on when she is in it. She holds her head up so well, and she is able to roll over very well also. It amazes me that someone who can not crawl can manage to scoot all over the floor!!!
My papaw had surgery earlier this week so my Aunt Ellen and Aunt Carolyn came into town. EK really loved getting to meet them.
J and I took EK to Frank and Andrea Haynes' new house to try out their pool. It was REALLY cold, so EK was not that big of a fan of it. And no, we did not just let her float on the raft (before you report me to DHS) we were both holding on to it so she could not go anywhere!!! Hopefully she will like the beach a bit more when we go in October!!!
Tonight was EK's first football game and no, it was not State!! West Alabama was in town so we went to see EK's best friend Mary Reeves!!! We had fun visiting with Meaghan and Wes at the tailgate!! It made me get super excited about MSU starting up next week!!! EK didn't even seem to mind being held by the tiger...I hope she likes Bully!!!!

Hello Coach!!!
So, J, Ella Kate and I headed to Starkville yesterday to visit with our students. We had a great visit and EK was a trooper to spend so much of her day in the car seat. While visiting with Morgan and Zack at Cold Stone, the one and only Dan Mullen walked by to make his ice cream selection. I jokingly said "hey, we should take Ella's picture with him." J jumped up and ran to the car to grab the camera. When Coach Mullen came back outside, J asked if we could take his picture and he was so kind and agreed. He asked what EK's name was and J told him thanks and we would see him at Jackson State. He was so nice to allow us to get the pic...no worries...it will be in her scrapbook. Next goal...stalk Rick Stansbury and John Cohen. I don't want to discriminate against the other sports!

Ek's First Day at The Chap
Today was Ella Kate's first day at church. She really did a good job! I was nervous that she would scream in the middle of like the pastoral prayer or something, but she didn't. We did have to take her in the lobby to give her a bottle. She makes a lot of noise when she eats!!! She wore a dress that was mine and I think it looked pretty cute! President Smith (our preacher) was very happy to see his self proclaimed god daughter at church. It was very nice to see everyone again. It has been a while since I have actually been to church. One sweet lady even brought us a precious pink smocked dress that she had her mother make! I do LOVE some smocked things!!!
DG Bid Day
Saturday was Bid Day at State. It was a crazy week for Haley but in the end, everything worked out GREAT and Haley became a Delta Gamma new member!!!! Of course Mama and I are super excited!!!! They pledged 64 girls I believe and from what I am told, they are awesome. Fun facts...Ella Kate went to her first Bid Day!!! She even got to meet the one and only Eleanor Smith Slaughter!!!! Mrs. Slaughter said she was very excited to see EK in 2027 when she pledges! Kathryn Adamson Evans little sister Sara Anne also pledged DG. She and Haley met for the first time on Bid Day. Their picture is the second from the bottom. Pretty great that one of my best friends from college would have a sister in the same pledge class with my baby sister!!! Also, my sweet Anne Robinson pledged DG!! She and Haley are in the bottom picture. She was in our youth group in Pelahatchie and she is AMAZING!!! I am super excited!! Her twin sister Sarah is going through rush at Ole Miss in a couple of months...maybe we will get her too!!!

One Month Old
I can hardly believe that Ella Kate is already a month old...actually, she will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. I know it sounds cliche, but time really is flying by. She is such a happy and good baby and I am loving getting to spend time with her. She even slept for 6 1/2 hours last night!! I hope she becomes as good of a sleeper as me!!! I am so thankful to get the opportunity to stay at home with her. I do not know what I would do if I had to go back to school this week!
EK and I spent the week at KayKay and Big G's house (my parents.) J spent the week in Pelahatchie for Shiloh's campmeeting. J was in charge of the youth activities. This is the church where we served for 2 1/2 years. We have very special friends there and it was a great opportunity for J to spend some time with the kids who are such a big part of our lives. We are very thankful though that he has come home now!!! Thank you mom and dad for letting EK and me crash with you guys. It was fun!!
