All Aboard🚂

This year for spring break, we traveled to Virginia to visit my sister and brother in law. G suggested we give the train a try for a new adventure. The kids were thrilled at the idea of the train and were packed and ready to go for a solid week before departing.
Because of EKs dance rehearsals, my parents and the little 2 left a couple of days before us. Excited little people!!!
The train to head up to VA leaves from the Meridian station. The kids liked seeing the carousel horses around the downtown area.
Ready to board!
Walker enjoyed exploring the train but was disappointed when the conductor did not greet him with a friendly "all aboard."
Emma enjoyed the iPad...shocker!
Sleeping was interesting to say the least. The kids managed to sleep a good bit. It was more of a challenge for the adults. We only got cat naps but we survived!
On Sunday,  EK and I loaded the train and started on our way to meet up with the rest of our crew.

Thanks to the night of tornado warnings the night before, this one got in her first nap pretty quickly.
Diva status.

When we finally arrived at  the station in Charlottesville, we were greeted by SNOW!  It all came so quickly. I'm not he greatest with my Virginia geography but from what I do understand, there are some large mountains in between Charlottesville and Staunton and we were good on the Charlottesville side, but the Staunton side was a mess. So, Ross could not get out of town to pick us up from the station.
We hung out at the station for a little while until Uncle Rich and Aunt Diane came to rescue us!  They  live to the east so their weather was still fine. We were not sure if we would be able to make it to Staunton, but we gave it a shot and Uncle Rich was able to get us to Jordan's house successfully! Yay!

We had planned to go out to the Knarr's farm for some fun with my cousins, but the snow messed up those plans. We were all sad about missing out so it was so great to get the unexpected time to visit during the great snow rescue!  Thank you so much Uncle Rich and Aunt Diane!!!

After our time in VA came to a close, it was time to load back up on the train and head back south with the whole crew.

The train was a new adventure and I'm thankful that it got us safely to our destinations BUT I think it may be a while before I get on one again😉  It took a LONG time to get there and it's going to take a long time for our bodies to recover from all the hours in those seats😂
