BT 2018

Well, Happy New Year (now that we are half way through January!)  J spent MLK weekend with 280 students from our church and a few other students from several churches around the state at one of our favorite retreats called Breakthru. J has been attending this camp since middle school and I started going 16 years ago. I've missed a few since all my kiddos have come along, but I try to visit every year if possible. We went out on Sunday and spent the day with J and some of our favorite people. The kids had a fabulous time!
First up was worship. Emma always finds someone (usually a Potter girl) to carry her around. She loves sweet Hannah!
After worship, it was time to pack meals for Stop Hunger Now. These students knocked out 20,000 meals in no time. Of course my kids were up in the middle of it all!

On to recreation!
I know some Nelsons that were beyond thrilled to get to spend time with sweet Taylor!  She has been loving on my kids since EK was 1!!! Oh how I pray the girls grow up to be just like her and W marries a girl just like her. She's that amazing!

After recreation, we warmed up with some hot chocolate and played some games. Haley spent the weekend at camp with our d group. The girls are in 10th grade this year and we have been with them since 6th. Time flies!  Haley was able to sneak away from our d group to hang with her little people that insisted she never leave  their sides.
While I'm talking about Haley, it seems about as good of a time as any to share her exciting news. Robert has been promoted within his company and will be transferred to Tucson, Arizona next month. Haley will finish out her school year here before joining him out west. Needless to say, this will be a giant adjustment for our entire family but we are trusting the Lord to help us all figure out the new normal. Robert's commitment is for two years so we are selfishly hoping they come back south after that😉.  As sad as we are that we won't see her every day, we are thrilled for the opportunity that they will have to grow both professionally and as a couple and I can not wait to see all the adventures they take on while living out there. And when we visit...we are going BIG.....Disneyland....Grand Canyon....San Diego....it's all so close to them! So, in the mean time, we are cramming in all the Haley time she is willing to give us. She's simply the best and we have been so blessed to have the years together in the same place. We love you, Haley (we love Robert too...even if I'm bummed his job is taking them away from us😉)
