Fall Break Favorites

We filled our fall break with all of our favorite things....family, friends, and food!  Aunt Carolyn's birthday was this weekend and we were so excited to get to celebrate with her.
We didn't party the whole weekend!  We put Aunt Carolyn to work!  EK has a project due at school this week where she is tasked with creating her own new candy bar and ad campaign
EK decided to make a Patriot Bar since her school's mascot is the patriot. Her bar is made of red velvet cake on the inside with white chocolate on the outside then all the sprinkles on top.

EK worked hard making her bars perfect and she loved getting to use Aunt Carolyn's computer to create the perfect wrapper for her finished bars. The slogan she came up with is "Patriot Bars....not very nutritious but very delicious!"

She's right! They are very tasty. She is so proud of her treats and the poster she created.
We love birthdays around here so everyone was excited to get in on the birthday cake action along with a Aunt Carolyn!

She's the best and we all loved getting to celebrate her special day!!!
Saturdays aren't complete without an overload of soccer pictures. This game was even more awesome when W realized he was playing against his best friend!

W's cheering section literally took up one entire sideline!  It was awesome and he is surely one loved little guy!

Fun fact, J coached Hunter's soccer team 19 years ago!  It's like the circle of life!  J (and me for the last 15 years) has gotten to be a part of "raising" the Sykes kids now they are the big kids who get to pour in to our children. Pretty special!
We had dinner with our sweet friends on Sunday night. Em was in heaven with the big girls!

Ths doesn't have anything to do with fall break, but can we take a moment and check out this comparison shot?!?! The top picture was taken in June on EKs first day of summer intensive dance camp and the bottom was taken this week. Crazy, right! I am so impressed with all the progress she is making and she is so proud of that split!  (Side note, please do not judge me based on the back grounds of these photos! The top picture was the week after Em's surgery so she was  sleeping on our floor and the bottom  is simply due to the fact that EK doesn't like to make her bed. We are working on it!)
