Busy Times

Things have been quite hectic around the Nelson house. In the last week, we have had all of our family over to our completely decorated house for a birthday party and now that house is almost 100% packed and ready to move on Monday. It has been a busy time, but an exciting time. We are very lucky to have such great families who are willing to help us as we move....again. Ella Kate has gotten a lot of grandparent time in the last week while J and I have put our lives in boxes. THANK YOU KayKay, G, Nana, and Pop! We couldn't do it without you!!! Here is a picture of EK on her actual birthday last week. She is such a mess. When you ask her how old she is, this is what she does. She is starting to like some new foods too and had no problem switching over to drinking cows milk. She is LOVING bananas, strawberries, and mandarin oranges. She can put away some fruit!!! She is doing great with her walking and is becoming quite fast! It is really precious to watch. Some of her new words include, KayKay, door, and globe (I know, random, right?) Yesterday we were in TJ Maxx and she pointed and said "globe". Mom and I looked at where she was pointing, and sure enough, there was a globe. CRAZY!!! She is super loving and belly laughs like whatever we do is the funniest thing that has ever happened. For example, today Haley had EK outside while they walked the dog. Haley was pointing at the leaves on the trees and for some reason, EK thought it was hysterical and laughed so hard she had tears. Bless her!
J left on Sunday to go on a mission trip with our new church in Hburg. So, EK and I have been spending the week with my parents. It has been so nice to have so many helpers to play with EK! It has also given me a good chance to finish up with the packing at the house...blah!
We went to visit my Mamaw in Amory on Monday. It was great to see her and Ella Kate had a great time exploring all around Mamaw's house.
Ella Kate has discovered the doll house and kitchen in the playroom at my parents house. It is pretty special to watch my little baby play with the things that my sisters and I played with as we grew up.
This is one of Ella Kate's favorite book characters "Maisy" and EK is playing her favorite game of Peek a Boo. She now likes to play by hiding behind furniture and popping out. Too funny to see!
We took EK out to Reunion to play in the sand since we aren't going to make it to the "real" beach this summer. She was not too crazy about the sand, but she LOVED having her feet in the water.

And in exciting news, my dear friends Sally and Brian Ray are going to have baby Vera Kate tomorrow!!! We are so happy for them and we can't wait to meet their sweet little girl. And the best part....Vera Kate is going to be born on my birthday!!! I am so thrilled to share my birthday with this precious baby! Pictures to come!!!!
