A Masterpiece
I love doing crafty things, so I thought why not get Ella Kate involved. I decided she could paint her first canvas today, and boy did she have fun doing it!

Notice the tongue sticking out? She was concentrating so hard! It takes a lot of focus to do great works of art!
After finishing her canvas, Ella Kate proceeded to paint her art table, the easel, the stool, the door to the deck, the broom...you get the idea. She LOVED it!!!

A bath was definitely in order for my little artist!
And voila, the finished product...with a few touches from Mama. =)

Back to Heritage
Can I just say that I LOVE Heritage UMC! We have had an incredible month here in Hattiesburg so far and I can't wait to see what God has in store!!! The church has been so warm and welcoming and have immediately made us feel at home. They are an AMAZING group of people and we are truly blessed to be able to serve along side each of them. Last night was "Back to Heritage." It is the kick off to the new school year, along with promotion Sunday. We spent the afternoon fellowship and eating together and then ended the night with Jarred Hall who is a really great, not cheesy, illusionist. It was a super time!!!
J and Ella Kate had fun dancing to the band...EK LOVED the tambourine.

13 Months Old
We are having a great summer so far, and we are looking forward to things settling down a bit...if that is possible with a 1 year old and a youth minister!!!!
Camp Meeting
J was able to go lead the youth at Shiloh UMC's camp meeting in Pelahatchie again this year. This is a 10 day, 3 service a day, old school, no air conditioner, tent revival that has been going on for like 180 years. It was great to get to go out there and visit with special friends. We LOVED our time in Pela and it is always nice to get to spend time with our sweet friends. We took Ella Kate down to the natural spring behind the church and snapped a few pictures. Sadly, I left my camera in the car during the church service. EK and I spent most of the service on the porch of a "tent" by the tabernacle. EK LOVED playing in the saw dust and filled up a Tonka truck one piece at a time. Too funny! She only ate a few handfuls of saw dust, I think, but she had plenty in her clothes and diaper to last us until next years event!!!
