Spring Cleaning

So, some major spring cleaning has taken place at the Nelson household the last couple of days!! My mom offered to come to Hburg and help clean out some terribly unorganized closets and our storage room to make some more room/order before Walker arrives in a few weeks. It never would have gotten done had she not been here, so we want to give a super huge THANK YOU to Kay Kay for giving up part of her spring break to "work like a Turk" (one of my mom's favorite quotes) for a few days!!! We love you Kay Kay!!!

Sweet Friends

What fun to have lunch with our sweet friends!!! Brian, Sally, and Vera Kate Ray were passing through town and stopped to have lunch with us. Ella Kate LOVED getting to play with Vera Kate. She kept saying "Vera Kate is my best friend in the whole world!" That makes my heart happy since Sally is such a special friend to me and now our girls (and boys) will be best friends too!!!

Our Day with Kay Kay

We have had a fun day playing with Kay Kay! This morning, we continued the hunt for shoes for Ella Kate. She LOVED throwing pennies in the fountain outside the store! And my little chef made us some rice krispie treats. Yum yum. Now off to watch the second half of the bulldogs basketball game. Hoping it goes better than the first half!!

Oops!

While attempting to go to Stride Rite, we stumbled upon the Build A Bear store. Oh dear. Ella Kate took one look in there and we were in trouble! She chose a rabbit that she affectionately named "Bunny" and carefully selected a purple ensemble for her to wear. Thank you Kay Kay for the special treat!!!!
Ella Kate has been having such fun visiting with all her favorite people. Jordan was home for her spring break, and EK was thrilled to get to play with her while she stayed at Kay Kay and G's house. J and I, along with 800 students took part in MYAC (a youth conference) in Jackson that weekend. Thank you Kay Kay, G, and Jordan for keeping Ella Kate while we did the conference thing.Spring has come in Hattiesburg! The other day after school, Ella Kate wanted me to take her picture with the flowers. I think she looks pretty sweet!!
This past weekend, we went to Columbus to visit with the Nelsons. A big thank you to Nana and Pop for keeping Ella Kate so J and I could go watch the Diamond Dawgs play Friday and Saturday. It was so nice and relaxing. We also got to go eat with Wes and Meaghan Gordon...sadly no pictures...but it was sooooooo great to catch up and visit with such precious friends!!!
The weather was gorgeous on Saturday, so EK did a lot of swinging, driving her gator and visiting with Nana, Pop, and Meemaw.

Life as of Late

We have been busy around here!!! With the help of Mom and my Aunt Carolyn's painting abilities, Baby Walker's room is painted with furniture and bedding in place!!! I will post pictures when the room is 100% complete, but I am loving the progress so far. Thank you so much Mom and Aunt Carolyn!!!! We so appreciate all the help!!!!

We celebrated Love Day last week with a party in Ella Kate's preschool class. Here are a couple of shots from the festivities. The sweetest sound you can ever imagine is the sound of your precious child singing her blessing to Jesus. Tears!!!!
You gotta love EK's teacher who custom made a Valentine loot bag with an owl on it for my owl obsessed child!!!!

Here are some pictures from before church on Sunday.

Yesterday we went to the USM/Tulane game to watch our sweet friend Katye Magee play basketball. Unfortunately for the Wave, USM put together quite the run in the last few minutes of the game to win, but it was so great to get to see some special friends!!!
We also got to visit with our favorite Delta State and East Rankin bball stars Brooke and Tyler Rhodes.
I guess that is about it for now! We are looking forward to a short week of school and Nana and Pop visiting this weekend!

A Rainy Day

It has been quite the soggy day today! So, Mom, Dad and I took Ella Kate to the Children's Museum for a little fun.

This little girl LOVES her letter. She can spot it anywhere and everywhere. I love hearing her spell her name and watching her as she writes "Ella." It is so sweet!!! We are working on the "Kate" part now...baby steps!!!
G and EK were entertained by a little puppet show presented by Kay Kay. It involved an armadillo, and a lady bug. It was interesting!!
EK challenged her G to a horse race...
EK won!

You have to love the spin art! Ella Kate was very proud of her creation and carried it all over the place once it dried.
Working hard!!!!

We had a great time at the museum. I love that Mississippi has such a fun place for kids to play and explore!
