Victory!

YEAH ERA!!!! The girls pulled out a big win against Pillow to win the MAIS Overall Basketball Championship for the first time in school history!!! Congrats to Coach Mac and all of the team!!!
We were there to cheer on our friends Rachel and Brooke, both of which were in our youth group in Pelahatchie. They played so great and it was fun to get to see all the excitement. Congrats to both of you for winning the gold ball and for being named to the All Tournament team. WE LOVE YOU BOTH TONS!!!!!
Aunt Haley was at the game too. Not only did we get to see East Rankin win, but we also got to see the MRA boys win the Overall for the 4th year in a row! The dynasty continues! Go Pats!!!

Go Brooke!

Our very special friend Brooke Rhodes is playing in the MAIS Overall Basketball Championship this week. Brooke is an INCREDIBLE player(the only private school girl to make Dandy Dozen) and an EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE woman of God. She was in our youth group in Pelahatchie and we LOVE her! The East Rankin team has already won the AAA State Championship this year and now all they need is the big gold ball!!!!
GO AUNT BROOKE!!!!

The Boys

On Sunday, J's brother Ren and his family stopped by our house after church. The boys wanted to play in our snow (what was left of it) since they did not get any in New Albany. Gregory wanted to build a snowman with uncle J, so here they are posing with it.
Oops! Nothing like playing in the wet snow in your Sunday clothes! Sorry Lee Ellen!!!!
John David got this light up sword at the Dixie National. They went on Saturday to see all the rodeo fun.
Ella Kate was taking her nap the whole time her cousins were visiting, but she does hope that everyone had a great Heart Day!!!!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

It was so gorgeous this morning to wake up and see everything white!!! If I were still teaching school, I would have been celebrating the snow day for sure! We bundled up in our ski gear and headed out to get some pictures. Ella Kate DID NOT LIKE the snow at all today, oh well. I guess she figured that she cooperated for the pictures the last time it snowed and she lives in Mississippi so it is not supposed to snow more than 1 time a year!!!!

What is that, you may ask? Snow ice cream! Yep, J and I gathered up some fresh snow and made a big bowl of snowy goodness. It was quite tasty!!!!
I love our house and I think it looks like a gingerbread house with all the snow. It makes me wish it was Christmas!!!

When the Saints Go Marching...

Who would have ever thought that the Saints would pull through and win??? I have to be honest, I didn't think they could do it. I wanted them too, but I didn't think they could handle dear Peyton. It was a fun night for sure! We headed to the Blair's house to watch the game and it was super fun! At about 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, I decided EK needed a special shirt to wear...thanks Mom for coming through and helping make that happen. I guess it was a lucky shirt!!
Ella Kate is a happy girl! In her first year, an Egg Bowl victory and the Saints winning the Super Bowl...AMAZING!!!! She was such a sweet girl at the party. Little did we know, but she had an ear infection! She hasn't even been grumpy at all...knock on wood...we may have a long night!
Dancing with Daddy to The Who
Sweet Karen Bishop made a king cake from scratch! I am so impressed with her domestic skills and I just had to post a picture of her tasty treat. It was very yummy!!!
